After Virtuosos classical music TV show had its very first, extremely successful season, David Furnish, Elton John’s partner contacted Mariann and told her that Elton is interested in buying the format. Mariann did not sell it.
 
When she was first told, Plácido Domingo, the legendary opera singer is coming to meet Mariann  and the young talents of Virtuosos in Budapest, she almost didn’t believe it, it was hard to comprehend at that time. Plácido Domingo eventually not only did arrive, but he liked the program and the idea so much that he became a shareholder and head of jury as well.
 
The idea of Virtuosos came from Mariann peller’s own experience: when she wanted her chidren to learn to play a classical music instrument, all three kids turned her down, saying that classical music is boring and could only be enjoyed by old people. That was the turning point when she decided tóshe will prove the opposite: that classical music can be exciting, refreshing and appealing to the young generation.
 
Since the start of the TV-series, yearly music school applications have risen by 15%-20% -according to the music teachers, many children says they want to play music because they were watching Virtuosos on TV. Thanks to Virtuosos, the younger generation has realised that classical music can be trendy too.
 
Mariann Peller has plenty of copycat social media profiles, scammers find her such an asset to count on… she hardly finds time to update her social media though!
